How to play Lucky Lotteries

Just like a raffle, each $2 and $5 Jackpot Lottery has a set number of ticket numbers to be sold. Once all are sold – ie. the lottery has been fully subscribed – the draw for that particular lottery can take place.

To buy a ticket number, either complete an entry form, or just ask your NSW Lotteries agent. You may choose to be allocated either random (to a maximum of five) or sequential ticket numbers – but remember, you can’t select your own numbers.

You can buy a $2 Jackpot Lottery ticket for as little as $2.15 and a $5 Jackpot Lottery ticket for $5.30 (these prices include agent commissions).

The prize structure for each $2 Jackpot Lottery is identical, as is the prize structure for each $5 Jackpot Lottery. Each lottery has a jackpot prize, which continues to grow until won.

How does the Jackpot work?

With Lucky Lotteries, if you win you don’t have to share the prize – and that includes the jackpot
prize! That’s because individual prizes are won by individual ticket numbers.

Whilst a jackpot can be worth millions of dollars, they are never worth less than $500,000 (for the $2 Jackpot Lottery) or $1,000,000 (for the $5 Jackpot Lottery). In each $2 Jackpot Lottery or $5 Jackpot Lottery draw, a “jackpot” ticket number is drawn from the full set of ticket numbers in the game. If the Jackpot ticket number has already won a cash prize other than a consolation prize in the same draw, then the jackpot is won. If the ticket number hasn’t won a cash prize, then the jackpot increases for the next draw.

    Each $5 Jackpot Lottery has a unique, three digit sequential number to identify it.
  • Fully subscribed lotteries are drawn in order – ie. The fully subscribed lottery with the lowest number will be drawn first.
  • There are 11 $2 Jackpot Lotteries on sale at any one time – the current lottery and 10 forward, or future, lotteries.
  • There are three $5 Jackpot Lotteries on sale at any one time – the current and two forward, or future, lotteries.

  • Check your ticket with your NSW Lotteries agent.
  • Phone the results Service on 1900 956 886 (calls cost 55c per minute). Higher rates apply for mobile and public phones.
  • Check the website.
  • Become a registered member in the Players Club, so that any prizes you win can be mailed out automatically to you.
