The survey looked at where the winning prizes were sold by postcode from 1 January 2008 up to 18 December 2008.
In the Sydney metropolitan area, Penrith - postcode 2750 - takes the mantle for the top selling suburb clocking up an unbelievable $8,500,000 in first division Lotto payouts so far this year.
Penrith knocks last year’s luckiest suburb, Liverpool – postcode 2170 – off its perch and all the way down to number 19 on the 2008 Lotto Luckiest Suburb list.
In the NSW regional areas, Dubbo is the luckiest place in NSW to purchase a Lotto entry. Agents based in postcode 2830 have sold a staggering $2,352,564.11 worth of first division Lotto payouts so far this year.
Dubbo succeeded it taking the claim of Lotto’s luckiest NSW Regional town away from 2007’s luckiest town Mittagong, which didn’t make the top 20 in the 2008 survey.
