$1.5 million start to 2009 for mystery

Last night’s Monday Lotto $3 million prize pool was shared by two winners nationally.

One winning entry was sold in Western Australia and one in the Sydney suburb of Campsie.

The $1.5 million winning entry was sold at Mid Campsie Newsagency at 245 Beamish Street, Campsie.

As the owner of the ticket is not a registered member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, officials have no way of contacting them to give them the good news.

“In the case of mystery winners we can only hope that they were checking their numbers off the TV last night or perhaps they will take their ticket back to their agent for checking in the near future,” Communications Manager John Vineburg said this morning.

“We always encourage players to become members of the NSW Lotteries Players club, as when you register your ticket when purchasing, you can be sure that we will contact you should you become Lotto’s next millionaire,” Mr Vineburg added.

The staff of Mid Campsie Newsagency will celebrate selling their Division One winning Lotto ticket in style.

“It feels great to know we have made someone a millionaire, I’ve been waiting to hear that news for a long time. I’ll celebrate by taking the staff out for dinner,” Charlie Cheung, Manager of the newsagency said this morning.

“This is a great start to the New Year for the lucky Lotto winner and for Campsie. Hopefully we’ll make Campsie Lotto’s luckiest suburb in 2009,” Mr Cheung added.

The winning numbers from Monday night’s $3 million Lotto draw were 24, 42, 21, 28, 33 and 19, with the supplementary numbers 11 and 44.
