Londonderry Supermarket and Newsagency in the Western Sydney suburb of Londonderry has sold a winning ticket that picked up $500,000 in Saturday’s Lotto draw.
Although NSW Lotteries officials were unable to contact the winner as they are not a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, the winner, who watched the televised draw on Saturday evening, came forward to claim their prize, at the Londonderry Supermarket and Newsagency on Sunday afternoon.
“I was so happy that I got to congratulate the winner when they came in on Sunday,” Asses Madrajat from Londonderry Supermarket and Newsagency said today.
“It was really exciting when the winner came into the shop with the winning ticket. I was delighted to see one of my regular customers so happy that they had won Lotto.
“I hope the next win for one of my customers is just around the corner,” Mr Madrajat.
Eight winners nationally shared Saturday Lotto’s $4 million prize, each picking up $500,000. Along with the winning entry sold in NSW, one winning entry was sold in South Australia, two in Queensland and four from the Victorian based lottery operator Tattersall’s.
The winning numbers from Saturday night’s $4 million Lotto draw were 40, 1, 7, 13, 16, and 30, with the supplementary numbers 22 and 23.
By using a Players Club Card to protect their entries, players can ensure they will be alerted to major prize wins, and automatically paid any unclaimed smaller prizes.
