Wagga’s Lotto millionaire said “I never win anything”
A Wagga Wagga resident received an early morning call from a NSW Lotteries official this morning to inform her that she is now a millionaire after her six numbers came up in last night’s Wednesday Lotto $1 million draw.
“What? I’m shaking and crying. What do I do now?” the winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said.
“I can’t believe it, I never win anything, sometimes I don’t even check my numbers because I don’t expect to win anything,” the winner added.
NSW Lotteries were able to contact the winner this morning as she is a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club. By using a Players Club Card to protect their entries, players can ensure they will be alerted to major prize wins, and automatically paid any unclaimed smaller prizes.
The winning entry was sold from Southcity Newsagency at Shop T6, 1-7 Tanda Place, Wagga Wagga.
“It’s our first millionaire, what a nice surprise,” Southcity Newsagency proprietor John Byrne said this morning.
“It’s a relief in a way, I’ve been waiting to hear this news for quite a while. There will be a lot of interest in the win around the area. I’m just hoping it’s a sign of things to come, I hope more wins will come our way.
“I hope the winner enjoys their new millionaire status,” Mr Byrne added.
The winning numbers from Wednesday night’s $1 million Lotto draw were 30, 11, 21, 25, 17, and 33, with the supplementary numbers 44 and 36.
This is the second big win in Wagga Wagga this week. NSW Lotteries are still searching for the mystery winner who scored the $100,000 first prize in $2 Jackpot Lottery, draw 9367 yesterday morning.
The $100,000 winning ticket, number 83929, was purchased from Marketplace Newsagency at Shop 35, Wagga Wagga Marketplace, Wagga Wagga.
