Mystery Newcastle Lotto player scores $444,444 prize
A mystery $444,444.45 Lotto winner could be roaming Newcastle completely unaware of their windfall.
A winning ticket sold by Marketown Newsagency at Shop 8, Marketown Shopping Centre, Newcastle West was one of nine winners sharing in Saturday Lotto’s $4 million prize pool.
As the owner of the winning ticket is not a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting the lucky winner with the good news.
NSW Lotteries officials are advising anyone who may have purchased a Saturday Lotto ticket from Marketown Newsagency recently to check their numbers as soon as possible, it could be worth a lot of money.
“Someone will be very happy when they realise that they’ve got the winning ticket,” Mark McNally from Marketown Newsagency said.
“We put up a sign yesterday to encourage people to check their tickets. Plenty of people are dreaming that they are our mystery winner and so far people have been disappointed when their ticket doesn’t have the six winning numbers.
“Every Saturday Lotto ticket that we put through the machine we think ‘this could be it’. This mystery win is creating a lot of excitement,” Mr McNally added.
Along with the winning ticket sold from Marketown Newsagency, four winning entries were sold from the Victorian based lottery operator Tatttersall’s, three winning entries were sold in Queensland and one winning entry was sold in Western Australia.
The winning numbers from Saturday night’s $4 million Lotto draw were 4, 44, 28, 16, 19 and 23, with the supplementary numbers 41 and 33.
