Million dollar wins in Lotto at Cessnock and Griffith on Wednesday 23 December gave the lucky ticket holders a very special Christmas.
Cessnock
The Cessnock winner did not register their ticket with NSW Lotteries Players Club, but fortunately they have since checked their entry and claimed the $1 million Lotto prize.
Kylie Wilson from the Vincent Street Newsagency at 90 Vincent Street Cessnock said that the win had the whole region talking.
“We’re chuffed, we’ve only been operating the business since October and we’ve sold a $1 million Lotto prize. Our sales have increased because everyone is so excited about the win.
Griffith
The Griffith winner, who has asked to remain totally anonymous, was a member of NSW Lotteries Players Club so they received a call directly from NSW Lotteries to break the good news.
Peter Searl, from Searls Newsagency at 412 Banna Avenue Griffith, said that he was happy to sell a $1 million Lotto prize just before Christmas.
“It’s been a long time coming; this is one of the biggest wins we’ve ever sold in the seven year we’ve been here. Congratulations to the lucky winner, and we hope there is another one on the horizon.
The winning numbers from the $2 million Lotto draw on Wednesday 23 December were 13, 18, 14, 28, 1, and 34 with the supplementary numbers 9 and 7.
