Lotto makes two new millionaires in NSW, players in Griffith and Rosebery win $1.3 million each
Last night’s $4 million Monday Lotto jackpot was shared by three winners, two of last night’s winners purchased their tickets in NSW.
Winners from the South-west town of Griffith and the Sydney suburb of Rosebery scored $1,339,740.46 each.
Griffith
”You are joking me,” was the first response from the winning Griffith couple when a NSW Lotteries official broke news of their new millionaire status.
“We have been hoping for something like this to happen for a very long time.
“We’ll pay off the house first, this is going to make life so much easier,” the winners added.
Peter Searl, from Searls Newsagency at 412 Banna Avenue Griffith, said that he was happy to sell another big Lotto prize.
“We didn’t have any big wins for quite some time and then two division one Lotto wins in less than three weeks; it looks like our luck has turned around.
“We’re going for the hat-trick, so we’ll tell everyone to come and get their tickets here while we’re running hot,” Mr Searl said this morning.
An anonymous Griffith winner scored $1 million in Wednesday Lotto on 23 December with a ticket purchased from Searls Newsagency.
Rosebery
The Rosebery winner, who has asked to remain anonymous, is a member of NSW Lotteries Players Club so they received a call directly from NSW Lotteries to break news of their win.
The ticket which scored its lucky owner more than $1.3 million was purchased from Rosebery Newsagency at 351 Gardeners Road, Rosebery.
“Over the years we have sold quite a few wins, so we are delighted to have another one under our belt,” Michael Negus from Rosebery Newsagency said this morning.
“We have a very loyal customer base, I’m delighted that one of them is now a millionaire,” Mr Negus added.
NSW Lotteries were able to contact Monday Lotto’s winners as they are members of Players Club. For just a small annual fee, Players Club members can protect their prizes and ensure that they can be contacted in the event of a major win.
Along with the two NSW winning tickets in last night’s Monday Lotto draw a winning entry was also sold in South Australia.
The winning numbers in last night’s $4 million Monday Lotto draw were 7, 20, 2, 21, 23, and 5 with the supplementary numbers 32 and 14.
